WebstaurantStore is seeking a Safety Coordinator to protect employees and support a culture of safety at our 1.2 million sq. ft. distribution center in Hagerstown, MD. Responsibilities

• Conduct warehouse safety walks and identify issues to ensure regulatory compliance
• Perform periodic inspections of safety areas (emergency exits, extinguishers, eye-wash stations)
• Maintain safety resources and PPE inventory
• Complete monthly extinguisher and eye-wash inspections and report findings
• Assist in new hire safety training and equipment operations
• Maintain forklift training records for all employees for inspections
• Provide regular safety updates to management
• Adhere to safety guidelines and meet department goals
• Keep work environment clean, organized, and hazard-free
• Collaborate with team to support overall operations

As a Safety Coordinator at WebstaurantStore, you’ll be the go-to hero for all things safety—helping our warehouse leadership maintain top-notch safety standards, roll out new processes, and support equipment training. You’ll lead safety inspections like a pro, dig into accident investigations, and keep those forklift certifications in check.

In our brand-new, high-tech, 1.2 million sq. ft. automated distribution center in Hagerstown, Maryland.

• Conduct warehouse visual safety walks, focusing on identifying issues and maintaining compliance with both internal and external regulations and policies.
• Perform periodic inspections of various warehouse safety areas, such as emergency exit doors, fire extinguishers, eye-wash stations etc.
• Maintain safety resources such as stocking first-aid stations and keeping inventory of PPE
• Complete monthly fire extinguisher and eye wash station inspections, reporting findings to the on-site safety manager.
• Assist in conducting one-on-one new hire training related to equipment operations and group safety proceduresvia presentations/written materials.
• Maintain organized forklift training records for all employees, ready for inspection at any time
• Provide regular updates to the management team regarding workplace safety issues
• Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy and quality of work
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership.
• Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
• Abide by all company and warehouse policies
• Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation
