Job summary

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10/30 certified or willing to obtain.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
  • NFPA 70E electrical safety knowledge preferred.
  • LOTO and trench safety training completed or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily safety walks, audits, and site inspections.
  • Identify and help correct potential hazards and document findings.
  • Ensure OSHA/NFPA70E compliance and safety policy adherence.
  • Lead safety briefings and toolbox talks for crews.
  • Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with foremen and project leadership to resolve safety concerns.

Position Title: Safety Coordinator
Location: Vernon, TX - subject to change
Compensation: $30.00 (DOE) |Per Diem: $4,515|Hourly W2 Full Time|OT after 40 hours| Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental |
Position Overview

The Safety Coordinator serves as an on-the-ground guardian of the company’s safety culture by maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-organized job site. This role not only enforces safety regulations but also encourages teams to take ownership of safe work practices. Through daily inspections, training, incident prevention, and collaboration with project leadership, the Safety Coordinator helps protect employees, prevent accidents, and ensure projects meet the highest safety standards while remaining on schedule and incident-free.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily safety walks, audits, and site inspections
  • Identify, document, communicate, and help correct potential safety hazards
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, project requirements, and company safety policies
  • Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks
  • Support overview of Lockout/Tagout, trench safety, electrical hazards, and other site-specific risks
  • Assist the Safety Department Manager with incident and near-miss investigations
  • Work with foremen, managers, supervisors, and project managers to resolve safety concerns
  • Integrate safety requirements into each phase of project operations
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, permits, inspection logs, and compliance records
  • Verify the proper use and condition of personal protective equipment
  • Respond to on-site medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR, or AED support
  • Reinforce safe work practices and promote a proactive safety culture across the job site
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 1–3+ years of construction safety experience
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations
  • OSHA 10 or 30 -Hour Construction Safety and Health Certification
  • First Aid , CPR , and AED Certification through the American Heart Association or must be willing to obtain within 30 days of arrival onsite
  • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety in the Workplace knowledge
  • Lockout/Tagout(LOTO)training
  • Trench Awareness training
  • Strong communication, training, and field decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors, and project leadership
  • Ability to identify hazards and enforce safety standards in real time
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach to preventing workplace incidents
  • Commitment to safety, accountability, and quality
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
  • Associate degree, trade school education, technical certification, or related field experience
  • Experience working on data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale construction projects
  • Experience analyzing safety data and trends to support continuous improvement
  • Experience in assisting with incident investigations and developing corrective action plan
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Active construction environment with indoor and outdoor work in varying temperatures
  • Extended periods of walking and standing
  • Frequent climbing of ladders and scaffolds and use of aerial lifts/MEWPs following required training
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in confined or elevated spaces
  • Availability for extended shifts, nights, and weekends
