IES Commercial, Inc. seeks a full-time Construction Safety Coordinator in Suffolk, VA to oversee safety activities for IES and client projects. The role emphasizes field inspections, safety planning with foremen, and conducting orientations and trainings to protect workers.

You will participate in toolbox talks, support hazard recognition, and provide on-site first aid as needed, with travel possible to job sites as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year commercial electrical experience in a related position.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• OSHA-30 Certification required.
• First Aid/CPR/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens Certifications required.
• Successfully pass pre-employment background check and MVR.

Responsibilities

• Ensures implementation of all IES and Client safety activities.

• Works with foreman in planning how to perform non-routine job tasks safely
• Participates in jobsite safety meetings and periodic attendance at foreman toolbox safety meetings
• Conducts jobsite safety orientations
• Assists in safety training as necessary
• Conducts field training on all equipment for all employees
• Assists in Hazards Recognition and corrections
• Provides on-site first aid and CPR capabilities
• Complies with all company and client safety policies and procedures
• Travel may be required.
