Position Summary

This position is responsible for planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure the highest possible safety standards for employees. The individual will work closely with Project Managers and the Field Operations Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with staff in human resources, operations, and research and development.
• Provides technical safety and health support and information to production and corporate personnel.
• Prepares written safety and health programs and policies.
• Identifies safety training needs and develops and coordinates safety training programs.
• Participates in new product/process reviews, including hazard analyses and operator training.
• Supports field personnel in selecting appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Promotes safety and health awareness through internal communications and training programs.
• Participates in the occupational safety and health committee.
• Assists in implementing hazard communication programs and preparing reports.
• Reviews process-operating procedures and records for safety considerations.
• Monitors federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and updates as needed.
• Provides compliance support to corporate and plant personnel.
• Advises on regulatory changes to ensure timely compliance.
• Audits jobsite practices and records for compliance.
• Monitors injury and illness reports, worker’s compensation claims.
• Reviews safety committee minutes and inspection reports, following up as necessary.
• Analyzes incident investigation reports and follows up as needed.
