YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

You will be reporting to the Health & Safety General Supervisor, and will be part of the Health and Safety Department. You will provide health and safety support and leadership to successfully run health and safety programs across various areas of the mine. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

• Ensure that safety standards are maintained, track and investigate accidents, and compile statistics.
• Responsible for induction, training, and organizing required training to meet department standards.
• Observe and instruct on safe work practices and procedures.
• Ensure the site executes and complies with the elements of the Health and Safety Management programs.
• Prepare safety-related reports and update H&S statistics.
• Develop training initiatives as part of health, safety, and wellness programs.
• Identify, monitor, and correct health and safety hazards.
• Provide technical advice and guidance on health and safety issues.
• Monitor employee adherence to safety regulations and enforce proper health and safety protocols.
• Promote safe and healthy working conditions and develop strategies to control risks in the workplace.
• Perform periodic site inspections to assess risk and ensure safety regulations are followed.
• Understand health and safety goals and work with the HSR Manager to develop targets to meet legislative requirements.
• Support safety meetings, develop and manage procedures and standards.
• Provide guidelines for safe work, including standards, procedures, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Support inspections and audits for the HSR department, JHSC, and other committees.
• Manage incident reporting and data structuring.
• Develop health and safety standards, procedures, and conduct Job Hazard Analyses.
• Ensure site compliance with provincial and national legislation.
• Deliver induction and orientation for new employees.
• Inspect, audit, and evaluate health and safety management systems and workplace conditions.
• Develop health and safety materials for presentations, videos, PowerPoints, etc.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• High School Diploma
• Degree or Diploma in OHS is considered an asset
• Experience in Mining Operations or relevant experience required
• Knowledge of EHS software
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants
• Trade certification or designation is an asset
• CRSP Designation is an asset
• Train-the-Trainer certification is an asset
• Leadership experience and training are assets
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
