Description

A Safety Coordinator is responsible for learning and completing training in safety procedures, protocols, documentation, OSHA regulations, and gaining broad exposure in the construction industry.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Ensures the daily calendar is up to date.
2. Conducts daily safety meetings.
3. Attends bi-weekly all-hands meetings.
4. Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess compliance with safety regulations.
5. Investigates incidents to determine root causes and collaborates with safety managers when necessary.
6. Prepares and updates Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans.
7. Prepares and enforces policies to foster a culture of safety.
8. Learns and utilizes software/systems to report, monitor, and address safety issues.
9. Schedules and conducts training on emergency procedures, workplace safety, and related topics.
10. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, compliance, and efficiency.
11. Collaborates with OSHA representatives and internal safety staff during audits and inspections; documents corrective actions.
12. Completes monthly vehicle inspection reports.
13. Completes OSHA Academy courses and Safety Spanish courses if not bilingual in Spanish, along with other assigned trainings.
14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Associate or four-year college degree.
2. Minimum of one year safety and construction experience.
3. Certifications: OSHA 30 in Construction, First Aid/CPR.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
7. Effective communication and training skills.
8. Knowledge of company safety policies and OSHA standards.
9. Some travel required (30-50%).
10. Training will be provided.
11. Bilingual in Spanish
