Job summary

Miller Electric Company is seeking a Safety Coordinator in Richmond, VA. The role reports to the Site Safety Manager and focuses on maintaining an OSHA-compliant, safe workplace.

The position is hands-on and engages daily with field personnel and management to execute safety programs. Ideal candidates have prior experience with electrical contractors on similar scopes of work, including mission-critical projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, standards, policies, and/or procedures.
• Provide technical expertise to managers and supervisors in establishing techniques and procedures for the elimination or control of unsafe behaviors, environments, and hazards.
• Plan and conduct periodic and unscheduled surveys and inspections of Miller Electric Company projects.
• Conduct hazard analyses of project operations.
• Assist in the update and maintenance of the company safety manual.
• Develop and conduct risk assessments and Job Task Analyses for relevant tasks.
• Coordinate with operating activities to provide safety training and ensure safety awareness throughout Miller Electric Company.
• Work with personnel to assure safe placement and job assignment.
• Assist in the maintenance of accident record keeping.
• Provide technical assistance with the investigation of accidents, incidents, injuries, and/or illnesses.
• Foster a team environment when advising on needed corrections.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Miller Electric Company has an immediate need for Safety Coordinator's in Richmond, VA.

Ideal candidate would have prior experience working for an electrical contractor on similar scopes of work. To include mission critical project experience.

The Safety Coordinator reports to the Site Safety Manager. Responsibilities are focused on maintaining the safest possible workplace and OSHA Compliance. This role will be hands-on and interact with our field personnel and management team daily assisting with safety program execution, field supervision, training, safety administration, case/care management.
