Contemporary Electrical Services is seeking a safety-focused professional to join our growing team in the DC metro area. You will evaluate jobsites and procedures to ensure risk controls align with company policy and legal guidelines, and you will assist with health and safety training and certifications.

Daily field visits across DC/MD/VA, on-call nights/weekends, and reporting to the Safety Director are required.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; Electrical construction preferred.
• 3–5 years of electrical construction experience preferred.
• Must pass a drug test and maintain a clean driving record.
• Must be able to navigate the Washington DC Metropolitan area and travel daily across DC/MD/VA.

Job roles/ responsibilities:

• Evaluate jobsites, employees and procedures to assess risk and adherence to company policy and legal guidelines.
• Assists, set up and conducts training and presentations for health and safety matters.
• Obtain safety certifications through BCSP (CHST, etc) and keep up with Continuing Education Credits (CEUs)
• Inspect equipment and machinery to observe unsafe conditions.
• Assists investigations of workplace accidents and vehicle accidents.
• Perform safety inspections on health and safety awareness and issues within the field.
• Submits Safety inspections in a timely manner.
• Be able to reprimand and coach employees when a safety violation is observed.
• Assists with maintaining safety files and records.
• Assists with conducting Drug and Alcohol Testing of employees.
• Helps maintain PPE inventory and tracking of PPE.
• Able to work at night (when applicable).
• Advises Safety Director on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions taken.
• Able to be on call when Safety Director is not in the area (nights and weekends).
• Give a daily field report to the Safety Director.
• Keep up with your Continuing Education Credits (CEUs).
• Must be able to navigate the Washington DC Metropolitan area
• Requires daily site visits throughout DC / MD / VA.

Skills Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 3-5 Years of Electrical Construction Experience preferred
• Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability related to field observations and emails/reports.
• Ability to prioritize tasks especially when handling an accident or incident.
• Understanding of legal health and safety guidelines related to safety.
• Maintain a good driving record.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
• Organizational skills.
• Salary Range: $70k-$100k
