Job summary

A-1 Electrical Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Director of Safety to develop, implement, and administer the company's safety and health programs and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, the NEC, and other regulations.

The Director maintains a safe work environment for employees, subcontractors, and visitors, working with management and field leadership to proactively identify risks and ensure safe practices on all electrical construction projects.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years in construction safety management, preferably within the electrical contracting industry.
Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA 1926 regulations and NFPA 70E safety standards, with working familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required.
Ability to travel to multiple job sites as required.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence positive safety behaviors at all levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and safety management software.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain the company's safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, the NEC, and other applicable safety standards.
Conduct regular job site safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and unsafe practices, recommend corrective actions, and monitor subcontractor activities for compliance with company and project-specific safety requirements.
Lead investigations of all accidents, incidents, and near-misses, prepare detailed reports, and track corrective actions to completion.
Coordinate and deliver new hire orientation, toolbox talks, and task-specific training, and reinforce a culture of safety through communication, coaching, and recognition programs.
Work with project managers and foremen on job-specific safety plans, JSAs, and lockout/tagout procedures, and ensure electrical safety protocols including arc flash protection, grounding, and PPE compliance are followed on every job site.
Maintain training logs, inspection reports, and incident records in compliance with company and regulatory requirements, and serve as the company's representative during OSHA inspections, coordinating responses to any citations or violations.
Analyze safety metrics and trends to recommend improvements in processes, training, and hazard prevention. Perform additional duties as assigned.
