Job summary

Confidential is seeking a hands-on Safety Coordinator to support our Safety Department in PA. You will drive OSHA compliance, training, and incident prevention to foster a safe workplace.

You will engage employees at all levels, conduct safety inspections, and coordinate HazCom/GHS and LOTO programs. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are required, with a focus on effective communication and documentation.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Experience in occupational safety, EHS, manufacturing safety, or related field preferred.
  • Experience delivering safety training and/or workplace safety inspections preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and workplace safety practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Forklift and Pallet Jack Trainer, providing training and maintaining required documentation.
  • Coordinate new-hire Safety Orientation and ensure new employees receive all required safety information and training.
  • Coordinate chemical management activities and HazCom/GHS responsibilities.
  • Provide training on LOTO, Confined Space, HazCom, and other safety programs.
  • Coordinate and conduct all required EHS training programs throughout the company.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and STOP Safety Observations.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce OSHA-related safety guidelines and policies.
  • Ensure monthly departmental safety training is completed and documented.
  • Direct and support accident and incident investigation procedures with root-cause analysis.
  • Intervene when unsafe activities or conditions are observed and mitigate risk.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Recommend and assist with corrective and preventive measures to reduce hazards.
  • Participate in safety meetings and initiatives.
  • Provide Spanish/English safety translation/interpretation as needed.
  • Assist employees with safety questions and concerns.
  • Support EHS Director and Safety Department with additional safety responsibilities.

Job description

The Safety Coordinator will support the Safety Department in managing day-to-day environmental, health, and safety activities and promoting a safe, compliant workplace. This position will have a strong focus on employee training, OSHA compliance, hazard identification, accident prevention, safety inspections, and effective communication throughout the organization.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on safety professional who can engage employees at all levels, deliver effective safety training, identify unsafe conditions and behaviors, and help drive a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary Forklift and Pallet Jack Trainer, providing training and maintaining required documentation.
  • Facilitate new-hire Safety Orientation and ensure new employees receive all required safety information and training.
  • Coordinate chemical management activities and serve as the Hazard Communication (HazCom) / GHS Coordinator.
  • Provide training on Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, Hazard Communication, and other required safety programs.
  • Coordinate and conduct all required EHS training programs throughout the company.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and facilitate STOP Safety Observations.
  • Develop, implement, communicate, and enforce OSHA-related safety guidelines, policies, and requirements.
  • Ensure required monthly departmental safety training is completed and documented.

  • Support the EHS Director and Safety Department with additional safety responsibilities and projects as needed.
Experience & Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;college degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in occupational safety, EHS, manufacturing safety, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience conducting safety training and/or workplace safety inspections preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and workplace safety practices preferred.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Ability and willingness to assist employees with safety-related questions and concerns.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency required, including the ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively in both languages.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling safety-related incidents and employee concerns.
