Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator supports DAP Health by overseeing employee safety measures across facilities, safeguarding staff, patients, and visitors. This role ensures compliance with safety regulations and assists with emergency preparedness. Additional responsibilities include managing safety inspections and training. The position requires traveling to various DAP Health locations to ensure that safety protocols are being followed consistently.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Inspect first aid kits quarterly to verify proper stocking and Cal OSHA compliance
- Review fire extinguishers quarterly to confirm compliance with safety standards
- Assist in conducting quarterly safety meetings; prepare content, talking points and disseminate information for these meetings
- Perform annual reviews and assist with updates to the Hazard Communication Plan and Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) as needed
- Ensure locations maintain UpToDate Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and provide training as required
- Collaborate with managers to confirm all staff have appropriate safety training and maintain training records on file
- Conduct quarterly site safety inspections using the Safety App
- Assist managers with ergonomic assessments utilizing company resources
- Investigate injuries and incident reports submitted via the DAP Health Safety Landing Page; perform root cause analysis, recommend and track corrective actions
- Learn and implement safety standards following California OSHA regulations and other relevant codes and ordinances
- Enforce policies and procedures to support a safe environment for all staff, volunteers, and visitors
- Stay current on regulations by participating in webinars, seminars, and training related to safety
- Participate in meetings to contribute to the development of safety policies and programs
- Ensure all program locations are implementing the safety program; maintain and update the safety manual and checklists
- Conduct quarterly site inspections to review all aspects of the safety program, including Cal OSHA and other regulatory agencies
- Travel to all sites at minimum quarterly to meet with managers to address any safety concerns
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities
- Familiar with Healthcare security and safety protocols, including property and data protection is preferred
- Communication Skills:
- Proficient in reading and report writing English
- Able to review and compose detailed security reports
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with all departments, including Revivals stores
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in report writing, across all levels of the organization
Education and Experience
- Experience in security, safety, or a related field
- OSHA 30 certification
- Current BLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- This position is on-site at a DAP Health location with the possibility of hybrid
- This job operates in an office setting at times and requires frequent times of sitting, standing, repetitive motion and talking
- Requires current and valid driver's license and current personal auto insurance
- Able to travel to DAP Health locations throughout San Diego and Riverside
- May require heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds
- Work environment may involve potential exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
