Job description

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing the company's employee safety at work. Their main duty is to ensure that the company is in compliance and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries. You will be working in a production/ manufacturing warehouse environment on a regular basis. RD Industries is an Omaha based company of 120 employees.

This position is full time Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. This role is a mid-entry level position.

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Safety: 1 year (Required)
  • OSHA Reporting: 1 year (Required)
  • Environmental Services: 1 year (Required)
  • Two to four (2-4) years of manufacturing, ag, training, or safety-related experience


Essential Functions

  • Coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
  • Develop company Job Safety Analysis program.
  • Manage company safety policies and OSHA compliance programs.
  • Evaluate Health and Safety methods, policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Synthesize with departments on safety and ergonomics expertise.
  • Coordinate and engage in Health and Safety Team.
  • Develop company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Manage information, records, and resources for Safety Management Program.
  • Execute safety training and OSHA compliance programs.
  • Handle current knowledge of company safety policies and federal, state and local laws.
  • Research regulatory requirements, industry standards, and health and safety best practices.
  • Handle record confidentiality and follow the policy on information release.
  • Train and support personnel on safety projects and resources.
  • Develop, gather and manage HSE data for corporate HSE reports.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to prioritize and manage many projects and work independently
  • Working knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with OSHA laws and requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of safety and security requirements

Work Environment

This job operates in a production manufacturing warehouse. May be required to wear common (PPE)Protective or Safety Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection.
