Job summary

Koch Foods Inc. is seeking a Safety Department Associate to manage daily safety tasks within a busy manufacturing plant in Mississippi. You will assist with training, maintain logs, SDS books, and perform inspections to uphold company safety standards.

The role requires clear communication, the ability to work with diverse teams, and readiness to participate in incident investigations and policy guidance. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred; some college or technical training a plus.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Technically proficient with technology and software usage.
• Some college or technical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily tasks associated with the safety department.
• Maintain safety logs and training files.
• Assist with safety training for new hires and current employees.
• Maintain and update all SDS books and chemical list.
• Assist in incident investigations.
• Provide leadership and direction regarding safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct all daily, weekly, monthly and annual safety inspections.
• Crosstrain in all areas in the department.
• All other relevant duties to the job.

Physical Requirements

• Typical office environment within a manufacturing plant utilizing computers, telephones and other office equipment.
• Frequently sit for long periods.
• Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
• May be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
• May be exposed to damp, wet, and cold environments.
• Work around live and/or raw animal odors.
