Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity seeks a full-time Safety Coordinator to develop and manage safety programs. The role involves compliance training, risk assessment, and collaboration with stakeholders to maintain a safe environment for staff, volunteers, and customers. Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor's degree, safety experience, and strong communication skills.
Safety Coordinator Full-time / Non-exempt
Job Summary:
The Safety Coordinator will collaborate with department leadership to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all staff, volunteers, and customers. In addition, they will play a logistical role with the assessment of organizational risk, oversee plans to mitigate risk, and collaborate with risk management partners to maintain adequate insurance coverage to protect the organization and its stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for safety program development, implementation and management
Ensure completion and support safety trainings and certifications including: compliance with Habitat International requirements such as safeguarding and Competent Person, morning huddle safety topics, and more advanced certifications requiring a train the trainer model or outside consultants (e.g., First Aid/CPR)
Coordinate and convene regular safety team meetings (e.g., Safety Committee or its successor)
Responsible for reporting and recordkeeping (including OSHA 300)
Assist with assessment of organizational risk, develop and oversee plans to mitigate risk, and collaborate with external risk management partners to maintain adequate insurance coverage to protect the organization, its officers, and employees
Assist with management of material data sheets for organization
