Job summary

Equix Energy Services seeks a Safety Coordinator to cover projects between Vero Beach and Melbourne, FL with a 100% travel focus. Wage is dependent on experience; the role requires implementing HSE systems and coordinating safety at multiple sites.

You will train personnel, audit contractor safety, and maintain reporting on safety metrics while adhering to regulatory requirements and company policies.

Qualifications

• Two years of EHS experience in operations, maintenance or construction preferred.
• Proven ability to hold personnel accountable to processes and standards.
• Experience developing and monitoring safety standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across diverse teams.
• Understanding of local, state and federal regulations related to safety.
• Ability to work independently and manage field responsibilities.
• Must be able to sit, walk or stand for long durations; color vision required.
• Lift up to 40 pounds and perform kneeling as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Safety Manager and Site Team to implement HSE system at sites.
• Assist in implementing HSE policies and procedures.
• Manage HSE system within assigned areas to meet performance targets.
• Provide on-time reporting of HSE metrics and injury data.
• Work with site team to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
• Audit contractors for safety compliance on construction sites.
• Advise on compliance issues and assist in corrective actions.
• Train site personnel on environmental health and safety policies.
• Review HSE deliverables from contractors and monitor performance.
• Participate in HSE program reviews and uphold safety practices.

The Equix team is built on pride in the workmanship and abilities of our crews. Our Core group of in-house welders have extensive knowledge and background in pipeline and fabrication welding. We have a current opening for a Safety Coordinator that will be in a %100 travel capacity to cover work projects between Vero Beach & Melbourne, FL. At Equix, we support our customers and stakeholders and constantly strive to exceed expectations with all of our services, which include: Pipeline Construction, Gas Distribution, Horizontal Directional Drilling, Facility Construction and Fabrication, and Trenching services.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Safety Manager and Site Team to ensure implementation of the HSE Management System at the site and that all safety requirements are consistently and correctly implemented
• Assist the implementation of all HSE policies and procedures
• Assist in managing the HSE management system within assigned areas of responsibility to achieve established HSE performance targets
• Maintain, monitor, and provide on-time reporting of HSE performance metrics, statistics, records and injury reporting
• Work with the site team to resolve problems and implement corrective actions
• Perform field and contractor audits on a regular basis to ensure compliance
• Advise the Safety Manager on EHS compliance issues and advise/assist in developing and implementing corrective actions
• Train site personnel in the areas of environmental compliance, occupational health and safety to ensure compliance with required safety policies and practices
• Review HSE deliverables, plans and programs proposed by contractors working at company's construction sites and monitor their performance to ensurecompliance
• Actively participate in HSE program reviews
• Ensure the highest level of health and safety practices. This includes wearing and demonstrating the proper use of essential safety equipment
• Adhere to and represent the company's values, vision and HSE Policy Statements while reinforcing Line Management's and individual employee's responsibility for HSE
• Assist in the development, training and implementation of HSE Policies and Procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Two (2) years of EHS experience applicable to operations, maintenance and/or construction industry preferable
• Proven experience holding people accountable to processes and standards
• Demonstrated success developing and monitoring safety standards
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work well and efficiently with a wide variety of people
• Demonstrated strengths in problem solving, planning, and coordination initiatives
• Understanding of local, state and federal regulatory requirements
• Ability to work independently will be essential
• Must be able to sit, walk or stand for long duration of time
• Must have the ability to identify and distinguish colors
• Must be able to transfer, carry, and lift up to forty (40) pounds
• Must be able to crouch, kneel, or ½ kneel for up to five (5) minutes at a time
