Role Overview

The Safety Coordinator/Officer directs, leads, and oversees the EHS systems and programs for the manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Develops and oversees the company’s environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all regulatory bodies.
• Creates and maintains safety programs including orientation, training, emergency preparedness, hazardous material procedures, and PPE use.
• Ensures program compliance through audits, training, and program champions.
• Analyzes accident data, reports, and implements initiatives to reduce workplace incidents and hazards.
• Leads the Safety Leadership Team and conducts regular safety meetings.
• Champions safety objectives such as BBSO, near miss reporting, and injury/environmental reporting.
• Conducts Safety Gemba Walks and manages safety-related projects and documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned, promoting positive change and continuous performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• OSHA10 certification preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing safety systems.
• Strong communication skills and leadership experience (1-2 years).
• Ability to travel up to 10%, including local safety trainings and audits.

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 40 lbs.
• Stand for long periods, bend, reach, pull.
