Salary Range: $65 - 70k Permanent Position / Benefits

DESCRIPTION:

A Grand Rapids, Michigan area engineering firm is seeking a Construction Safety Coordinator with experience in ensuring construction workers and staff adhere to local, state, and federal safety regulations. The Safety Coordinator will provide safety training, monitor the work environment, identify hazards, implement safety protocols, and collaborate with project managers, contractors, and employees. Responsibilities include maintaining safety records, investigating incidents, and recommending corrective actions.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health or related field.
2. Certification as a Safety Professional or equivalent (e.g., OSHA Safety, OHST, CSST) with at least 2 years of construction safety experience.
3. Thorough understanding of OSHA and other relevant environmental health and safety regulations, with excellent communication skills.
4. Experience developing and implementing safe work practices for construction sites and personnel.
5. Ability to maintain detailed safety records, conduct audits and inspections, and report violations.
6. Ability to coordinate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.
