Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator will ensure a safe and healthy workplace by developing and implementing safety programs, conducting inspections, providing training, and investigating incidents to prevent accidents and ensure regulatory compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead the Safety Committee.
  • Manage safety care programs for all employees.
  • Lead accident investigations and implement corrective/preventative actions.
  • Oversee near-miss reporting, follow-up, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate customer safety audits.
  • Conduct periodic safety assessments at the plant.
  • Maintain and update the HSI system for Meridian.
  • Participate actively in company safety meetings by providing feedback and information.
  • Train new hires and current employees on safety procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a safety-related role.
  • OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour training/certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, bend, or squat for periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Schedule & Compensation

Schedule: 1st Shift, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour, based on experience and skills. Actual salary may vary depending on factors such as relevant experience, location, and business needs.
