Job Summary: The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting, administering, and coordinating the environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) program across assigned sites. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The Safety Coordinator will serve as a resource for site leadership and employees, helping to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all.
Essential Job Functions
- Serve as the primary EH&S resource across assigned sites, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Assist in identifying potential safety, health, and environmental hazards; collaborate with the EHS Manager to implement training and improvement initiatives aimed at reducing risk.
- Participate in and support site safety meetings, ensuring proper documentation and attendance records are maintained.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations; communicate updates and changes to site leadership.
- Conduct routine site inspections and audits, documenting findings and working with appropriate stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are in place and consistently followed by all team members.
- Provide guidance and support to the site Safety Committee on all health and safety-related matters.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents, helping to identify root causes and develop corrective action plans.
- Partner with the EH&S Manager to ensure all safety training and retraining is effectively delivered and tracked.
- Support the implementation of corporate safety initiatives, including safety action plans and business objectives.
- Contribute to the development and communication of safety messages and safe work practices throughout the organization.
Additional Responsibilities
- Actively participate in cross-functional team initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support employee onboarding by facilitating safety training sessions and workshops.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports as required.
- Attend and actively participate in required meetings, trainings, and other assigned activities.
Requirements
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of applicable federal and state OSHA regulations.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and foster teamwork across departments.
- Skilled in facilitating meetings and safety discussions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with data management systems is a plus.

Salary Description
$22 - $24 per hour
