Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Environmental Specialist for a full-time contract role at a refinery in Billings, MT. You will collect environmental samples, support waste management, oversee cleanup, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance on-site.

Responsibilities include performing inspections, maintaining QA/QC data, and coordinating with plant personnel to drive environmental improvements. The role is on-site with a competitive hourly pay and benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Experience in field environmental safety at a refinery.
  • Hands-on experience with environmental sampling and sample collection procedures.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory and sampling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC practices related to environmental sampling and data integrity.
  • Experience conducting environmental inspections in an industrial or refinery setting.
  • Strong attention to detail in samples, documentation and waste management data.
  • Ability to oversee cleanup and spill response activities in a plant environment.
  • Effective communication with plant personnel to report findings.
  • Strong organizational skills for samples, records and schedules.

Job Description

This full-time contract role focuses on providing environmental field support at a refinery, ensuring safe operations and regulatory compliance. Collect and manage environmental samples, supports waste management activities, and oversees cleanup efforts to maintain a safe and compliant plant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collect environmental samples in the field according to established safety and quality procedures.

Work Environment

This role is based on-site at a refinery and involves regular work in field and plant areas. The Coordinator frequently moves between outdoor and indoor locations to collect samples, conduct inspections, perform walkthroughs, and oversee cleanup and spill response activities. The position requires working around operational equipment, environmental sampling tools, and laboratory-related equipment. The work schedule is full time and may involve varying conditions typical of an industrial facility, including noise, changing weather conditions, and the need to follow established safety procedures and appropriate protective attire.

This is a Contract position based out of Billings, MT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
