Job summary

Oakland Housing Authority seeks an Occupational Safety Specialist to support agency-wide safety compliance, training delivery, and safety program administration. You will assist CAL-OSHA compliance, coordinate Workers’ Compensation matters, and analyze incident data to identify trends and mitigate risks.

The role requires an associate degree (4 years of related experience) or a bachelor’s degree (2 years) in safety or a related field.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and 4 years in occupational safety, EH&S, risk management, or related areas.
• Or a bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in related fields.
• Bilingual ASL/Chinese/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with CAL-OSHA compliant safety training and records management.
• Analyze accident reports to identify trends, hazards and exposures.
• Coordinate Workers’ Compensation processes and ergonomic assessments.
• Support safety investigations and incident follow-up.
• Maintain safety records and compliance documents.
