DEFINITION
Under direction, the Occupational Safety Specialist supports agency-wide compliance with federal, state, and OSHA/CAL‑OSHA regulations. The role assists in the delivery and documentation of safety training, supports safety committees, conducts safety-related data review, and coordinates aspects of Workers’ Compensation, ergonomic assessments, and workplace safety investigations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and compliant working environment across the Authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Associate’s degree in a related field AND 4 years of progressively responsible experience in occupational safety, Environmental Health & Safety, risk management, emergency management, or related areas
Or a bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental health, risk management, public administration, industrial hygiene, emergency management or related field and 2 years of experience.
Bilingual skills in ASL, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese and/or Spanish are a plus.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
