Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Complex Safety Manager to provide strategic leadership for health and safety across processing and live operations. You will lead a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with site leaders to reduce risk and injuries while promoting employee well-being.

As the site''s primary health and safety representative, you will manage audits, training, and incident investigations, and drive continuous improvement to meet Tyson Foods'' safety goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of safety experience in manufacturing, food production, or industrial operations.
  • 3+ years of progressive safety leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard communication, ergonomics, accident investigation, and safety training.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all safety programs and initiatives for the complex.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Analyze safety metrics and incident trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and develop preventive action plans.
  • Maintain OSHA records, permits, and compliance documentation.
  • Lead safety training programs including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication, PPE, Ergonomics, and Emergency Response.
  • Support regulatory inspections and serve as the primary contact for safety-related matters.
  • Partner with operations teams to drive employee engagement and strengthen the site's safety culture.

As a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, this role drives a proactive safety culture, ensures regulatory compliance, and leads continuous improvement efforts to reduce risk, prevent injuries, and promote employee well-being. The position serves as the site's primary health and safety representative and partners with leaders to implement best practices that support Tyson Foods' safety goals.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all safety programs and initiatives for the complex. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions as needed. Analyze safety metrics and incident trends to identify improvement opportunities. Investigate workplace incidents and develop preventive action plans. Maintain OSHA records, permits, and compliance documentation. Lead safety training programs including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication, PPE, Ergonomics, and Emergency Response. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems. Travel: Up to 40% travel required.
