OSF HealthCare is seeking a Safety Companion who will provide continuous observation to ensure patient safety and assist with activities of daily living in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include documenting patient information and communicating with the care team to support high-quality care.

The role requires CPR/BLS certification within 90 days, strong interpersonal skills, and 1 year of customer service experience.

Qualifications

• CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider - BLS (within 90 days of onboarding)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
• High School Diploma/GED
• 1 year work experience in a customer service industry

Responsabilités

• Provide continuous, attentive observation of assigned patients to maintain their safety.
• Perform light patient care tasks including repositioning, ambulation assistance, bathing, feeding, and activities of daily living.
• Document relevant information in the patient record and communicate with the care team to promote seamless, high-quality care.

Expected pay for this position is $17.66 - $19.63/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Safety Companion provides continuous, attentive observation of assigned patients to maintain their safety. This role performs light patient care tasks, which may include repositioning, ambulation assistance, bathing, feeding, and other activities of daily living. The Safety Companion documents relevant information in the patient record and communicates effectively with the care team to promote seamless, high-quality care. Responsibilities may vary based on departmental needs and the specific support required for patients of all age groups, contributing to each patient’s comfort and well-being.
