SkyChefs in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a Safety Clerk to support our driver safety program, ensure SOPs are followed, maintain compliance records, and assist with training efforts on the ramp.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain Airport SIDA badge and CBP Customs Seal within 30 days of hire.
• 3-5 years of safety experience preferred; AOA ramp experience may be substituted year for year for Safety experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and other computer applications.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for SOP training for all new drivers and re-training of drivers.
• Responsible for updating and maintaining all driver files.
• Processing of all Port Authority/Customs identifications.
• Ensure all State inspections, registrations and Insurance ID’s for trucks are current.
• Responsible for ensuring all drivers adhere to A-1 Inspection procedures.
• Assist the Safety Supervisor as needed and perform other clerical duties as assigned.

• Usual shift will be 4am - 1230pm and schedule will be either Wed-Sun or Thurs-Mon
