Job summary

Viejas Casino & Resort is seeking a Safety and Claims Officer to assist the Director of Risk and EHS in planning, implementing, and maintaining occupational safety, health, and environmental programs for team members and guests.

You will manage workers' compensation and tort claims, analyze data, conduct training, and ensure compliance with federal and state laws while partnering with managers to reduce injuries and protect assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, or related field.
• 3 to 5 years of related experience in a safety or environmental capacity.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA/EHS regulations and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Collects, analyzes, and evaluates safety, loss, and accident data.
• Develops and conducts safety and environmental training classes and new hire orientation.
• Maintains OSHA and Viejas work injury logs.
• Coordinates general liability claims management.
• Protects company assets and reports fraudulent activity to Surveillance Department and Management.
