Job summary

Parkwest Casino in California seeks a Safety Manager to lead occupational health, public safety, and environmental compliance programs across our properties. You will train managers, conduct inspections, and coordinate emergency drills to maintain a safe, compliant environment.

Responsibilities include incident reviews, cross-department safety initiatives, and ongoing training for high-exposure teams. Collaboration with HR, Legal, and regulators is essential to mitigate risks and uphold safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in OH&S, IH, RM, or related field preferred.
• OSHA 30-Hour GI or ASP/CSP credentials may substitute for degree.
• PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification a plus.
• 3–5 years of dedicated occupational health and safety experience in hospitality/casino environments.
• HR or related discipline degree preferred; equivalent experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve IIPP, Emergency Action Plans, Hazard Communication, Bloodborne Pathogens, and safety programs to ensure CA compliance.
• Conduct routine safety inspections across gaming floors, kitchens, bars, and facilities.
• Develop and implement emergency protocols; coordinate regular drills across shifts.
• Review injuries and incidents; prepare reports, root-cause analyses with HR/Legal.
• Lead cross-department Safety Committee; foster safety culture across all shifts.
• Deliver safety onboarding and role-specific training for high-exposure teams.
• Interface with regulators, local fire departments, police, EMS, and Cal/OSHA.
• Train management on safety programs and risk management; share safety info across organization.
• Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
