Job summary

Viejas Casino & Resort is seeking a Safety and Claims Officer to assist the Director of Risk and EHS in planning, implementing, and maintaining safety, environmental, and workers' compensation programs for team members and guests.

The role focuses on collecting and analyzing incident data, coordinating training, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, or related field preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 3–5 years of related experience in a safety or environmental capacity.

Responsibilities

• Collects, analyzes, and evaluates safety, loss, and accident data.
• Implements safety and environmental training and orientation.
• Maintains OSHA and work injury logs and coordinates claims management.
• Designs and manages the Work Injury Program and light duty program.
• Reviews accident reports to assess liability and recommend corrective action.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations.
