Job summary

Trulite Glass & Aluminum Solutions in Dallas, NC is seeking a Safety and Quality Manager to lead plant safety and quality programs, ensuring OSHA compliance and alignment with environmental standards.

You'll spend time on the production floor identifying hazards, conducting trainings and audits, investigating incidents, and partnering with maintenance and operations to sustain safe, compliant processes and drive continuous improvement in quality metrics.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Safety or equivalent; two years' experience preferred.
• OSHA 30 preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Team player with ability to train others.
• Experience with quality systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and maintain plant safety and quality programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, company standards, and applicable industry requirements.
• Hands on - spend ~90% of time on the production floor identifying hazards, monitoring processes, and working with employees and supervisors to improve safety and quality.
• Conduct new-hire safety orientations, monthly safety training, weekly toolbox talks, safety committee meetings, and emergency drills; maintain training records.
• Conduct inspections and risk assessments; identify and mitigate hazards involving equipment, ergonomics, hazardous materials, and unsafe conditions; support investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain OSHA, environmental, permitting, inspection, testing, reporting, and certification requirements; support INSHARP/VIPP programs and audits.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations to ensure equipment safety and proper PPE programs.
• Oversee quality control activities, including inspection, sampling, testing, process monitoring, and quality standards.

Who You Are

You are willing to work hand in hand with other plant management to develop and deliver plant safety reports and statistics and provide leadership and development regarding environmental health and safety matters. You will maintain records, development of recordable incident investigation and information for corporate conference calls, development of corrective action plans to prevent reoccurring problems, etc.

What You Will Be Doing

• Direct and maintain plant safety and quality programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, company standards, and applicable industry requirements.
• Hands on -Spend approximately 90% of time on the production floor identifying hazards, monitoring processes, and working directly with employees and supervisors to improve safety and quality.
• Conduct new-hire safety orientations, monthly safety training, weekly toolbox talks, safety committee meetings, and emergency response drills; maintain required training records.
• Conduct inspections and risk assessments; identify and mitigate hazards involving equipment, ergonomics, hazardous materials, and unsafe conditions; support accident and incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain required OSHA, environmental, permitting, inspection, testing, reporting, and certification requirements, including support for INSHARP/VIPP programs and regulatory audits.
• Partner with maintenance and operations to ensure equipment is safely installed, maintained, and inspected; manage PPE, safety footwear, and prescription eyewear programs.
• Oversee quality control activities, including inspection, sampling, testing, process monitoring, quality standards, and implementation of quality control plans.
• Support resolution of customer quality complaints and evaluate returned products (RGAs), recommending appropriate corrective actions.
• Monitor and report safety, quality, production, and other key performance indicators; identify trends and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, production, shipping/receiving, sales, customer service, employees, and management to achieve safety, quality, efficiency, and loss-prevention objectives.

Skills You Bring

• BS Degree in Safety or equivalent or two years' experience as a safety professional or a combination of both
• OSHA 30 preferred
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• A team player
• Must be able to train other employees effectively
• Experience working with quality systems is preferred
