NAVAIR in Cherry Point, NC is seeking a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist to help manage radiological affairs and safety programs. You will collaborate with the Radiation Safety Officer and Navy regulations to ensure a safe, compliant workplace at Cherry Point.

You will implement Laser Safety measures, oversee Hazard Abatement, and administer Occupational Safety and Health programs in line with DoN directives, with a strong emphasis on procedures and emergency planning.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will assist Radiation Safety Officer in managing specific or command level Radiological Affairs Support Program requirements.
• You will implement and maintain as effective Laser Safety Program that complies with all naval and federal regulations and standards.
• You will review and approve all operating and emergency procedures pertaining to Radiological Affairs Support Program operations.
• You will manage the Hazard Abatement Program for the correction of workplace hazards.
• You will manage Occupational Safety and Health programs, Department of Navy policies and directives.
