Job summary

NAVAIR in Cherry Point, NC is seeking a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist to help manage radiological affairs and safety programs. You will collaborate with the Radiation Safety Officer and Navy regulations to ensure a safe, compliant workplace at Cherry Point.

You will implement Laser Safety measures, oversee Hazard Abatement, and administer Occupational Safety and Health programs in line with DoN directives, with a strong emphasis on procedures and emergency planning.

Responsibilities

• Assist Radiation Safety Officer in managing Radiological Affairs Support Program requirements.
• Implement and maintain Laser Safety Program compliant with naval and federal regulations.
• Review and approve operating and emergency procedures for Radiological Affairs Support Program operations.
• Manage the Hazard Abatement Program to correct workplace hazards.
• Manage Occupational Safety and Health programs as directed by DoN policies.
