The salary range for this job posting is $77,450.00 - $138,790.00 annually + bonus + benefits. Pay Type: Salary

The above represents the full salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay and job title, we'll consider your location, education, experience, and other job-related factors, and will fall within the stated range. Your recruiter can share more information about the specific salary range during the hiring process.

This role will work remote in North Carolina, South Carolina and possibly some in Georgia. Ideal candidates will reside in the Charlotte, Metro area. We may hire a senior level and the listed salary range is inclusive of both the non senior and senior level. A company vehicle will be provided for this role.

The position will report to a Regional Vice President, Commercial Lines.

Job Objective: The Safety and Loss Control Consultant conducts loss analysis and research prior to conducting on-site occupational safety and loss prevention surveys to assess the policy holder's safety efforts and to detect occupational safety hazards to employees. The role involves preparing reports, making recommendations, participating in training, and providing risk assessments to support underwriting decisions.

Essential Functions:

  1. Consults with policyholders to improve occupational safety programs.
  2. Provides underwriters with safety level information.
  3. Evaluates safety programs and work sites for hazards.
  4. Conducts industrial hygiene testing.
  5. Researches standards, laws, and literature for solutions.
  6. Develops cost-effective hazard correction methods.
  7. Analyzes loss data for trends and solutions.
  8. Prepares reports on hazards and controls.
  9. Updates underwriting on hazard changes.
  10. Responds promptly to safety requests.
  11. Communicates effectively with management.
  12. Leads and motivates support staff.

Other Functions: Performs additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in safety or related fields, with preferred certifications and experience in occupational safety management. Must have knowledge of safety standards, risk management, OSHA, MSHA, DOT, NFPA, and proficiency in MS Office. Effective communication and driving skills are essential.
