Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) proudly stands as the largest expanded learning provider in San Mateo County, dedicated to empowering 6,000 TK-College students across 29 sites from East Palo Alto to Daly City. Position Overview
The Safety & Compliance Specialist supports the implementation and maintenance of organization-wide safety protocols, reporting systems, and compliance procedures across BGCP sites. This role works directly under the Director of Safety & Compliance to ensure safe, well-managed environments for youth, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about building a culture of safety, accountability, and support.
Role & Responsibilities
Site Safety Compliance & Monitoring
- Conduct and support safety audits across BGCP sites
- Follow up on corrective action plans under the direction of the Director
- Track completion of required drills and emergency procedures
Policy & Documentation
- Organize and update safety-related policies and procedures under the direction of the Director
- Compile compliance documentation and records as needed
- Ensure updated versions of documents are available across platforms
Training & Communication
- Support the development and rollout of training materials for frontline staff
- Provide logistics and facilitation support for safety-related trainings
- Maintain safety-related communication tools and intranet content

Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in youth development, education, site operations, HR, or compliance-related roles
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow systems and document processes
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Qualtrics
- Valid California driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (frequent site visits required)
- Passion for safety, equity, and youth-serving environment
- Perform additional relevant duties assigned
Physical Requirements And Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, crouching, squatting, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 20% walking & standing. Work environment noise level is usually moderate but can be noisy at times. All requirements are subject to reasonable accommodations.
LOCATION
Menlo Park, CA
This position requires flexibility to regularly travel to multiple sites across San Mateo County from Daly City to East Palo Alto to assess, train, and support sites as needed.
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday - Friday: 10:00am - 7:00pm, however flexibility is required to align with the organization’s needs
Compensation & Benefits
Employment Status: Full-Time HourlyPay Range: $30.00 - $35.00 (per hour or annually), depending on experience (DOE)Health Benefits:- You are entitled to company-provided medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as life and long-term disability insurance paid 100% by BGCP with additional buy-up options beginning on your start date

As part of the hiring process, BGCP requires candidates to complete a LiveScan fingerprinting, background check, tuberculosis (TB) evaluation or test.
