Job summary

Natoli Engineering Company, a Saint Charles, MO manufacturer of tablet compression tooling, seeks a Safety and Compliance Manager to own the EHS program and regulatory compliance across its Saint Charles operations. You will drive the safety management system, ensure OSHA/EPA/dot compliance, and partner with production, quality, and HR leadership to keep processes audit-ready.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing safety/compliance, CSP/ASP/OHST preferred, and the ability to train staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in safety, EH&S, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive safety and regulatory compliance experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Experience leading incident investigations, corrective actions, and regulatory audits.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve the facility safety management system, policies, and SOPs.
• Ensure OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulations are met across operations.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis with corrective actions.
• Conduct safety audits, machine guarding, and ergonomic assessments on the shop floor.
• Manage hazard communication, lockout/tagout, PPE, and confined-space programs.
• Deliver safety training for production, maintenance, and warehouse staff.
• Maintain OSHA 300/300A/301 records and regulatory filings.

As a precision manufacturer serving tightly regulated pharmaceutical markets, Natoli holds workplace safety and regulatory compliance to the same exacting standard it applies to its products.**Position Summary**Natoli Engineering is hiring a Safety and Compliance Manager to lead the company's environmental, health, and safety (EHS) program and to own regulatory compliance across its Saint Charles, MO manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role builds and runs the safety management system, keeps the facility OSHA- and EPA-compliant, and partners closely with production, quality, and HR leadership to make sure every process on the shop floor is safe, documented, and audit-ready.Key Responsibilities• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the facility's safety management system, policies, and standard operating procedures• Ensure ongoing compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations• Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action plans for injuries, near-misses, and property damage• Conduct routine safety audits, machine-guarding and ergonomic assessments, and shop-floor walkthroughs; track findings to closure• Own the company's hazard communication, lockout/tagout, PPE, respiratory protection, and confined-space programs• Design and deliver new-hire and recurring safety training for production, maintenance, and warehouse staff• Maintain OSHA 300/300A/301 recordkeeping and prepare required regulatory filings and reports• Manage workers' compensation cases in partnership with HR, including claims tracking and return-to-work coordination• Monitor environmental compliance (waste handling, air/water permits, hazardous materials storage and disposal)• Serve as primary liaison during regulatory inspections and third-party audits (OSHA, insurance carriers, customer/ISO audits)• Track and report leading and lagging safety metrics (TRIR, DART, near-miss rates) to plant and executive leadership• Chair the safety committee and champion a plant-wide culture of proactive safety ownership## Qualifications**Qualifications & Requirements**• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree)• 5+ years of progressive safety and regulatory compliance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment; machining, tooling, or medical device/pharmaceutical manufacturing background a plus• Working knowledge of OSHA general industry standards, EPA regulations, and DOT hazmat requirements• Professional certification preferred: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Occupational Health & Safety Technologist (OHST)• Demonstrated experience leading incident investigations, writing corrective action plans, and managing regulatory audits• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train and influence employees at every level of the organization• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety/EHS management software• Ability to walk the production floor daily, wear required PPE, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs in a manufacturing environmentThis role's blended EHS + regulatory compliance scope for a manufacturing facility is benchmarked above the standalone Safety Manager and EHS Manager ranges, while below general corporate Compliance Manager roles (which typically skew toward legal/financial compliance).**Benefits include:**• Medical, dental, and vision insurance• 401(k) with company match• Paid time off and paid holidays• Life and disability insurance• Annual performance bonus eligibility• Ongoing training and certification support (CSP/ASP/OHST)
