Saige Partners in Vermont seeks an experienced EHS Leader to provide guidance for a manufacturing facility, develop and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs, and promote safe work practices across operations.

You will lead incident investigations, oversee audits and risk assessments, maintain required EHS documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen safety culture and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3–5 years of manufacturing EHS experience
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state/federal regulations
  • Proven ability to lead EHS programs and influence safety performance at all levels of an organization

Job description

What You'll Be Doing

Provide EHS leadership, guidance, resources, and support for a manufacturing facility and associated operations. Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs that promote safe work practices and employee engagement. Lead safety initiatives that foster a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset. Conduct new-hire safety orientations and deliver required annual training in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company requirements. Partner with leaders and employees to identify, evaluate, and mitigate workplace hazards. Serve as a primary resource and champion for Safety Committees, Emergency Response Teams, and site leadership. Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Maintain required EHS documentation, permits, records, and regulatory reports. Conduct facility inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Evaluate equipment, processes, and work environments for safety and ergonomic improvements. Recommend and implement appropriate engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Track, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics, trends, and key performance indicators. Coordinate and support internal and external compliance audits and regulatory inspections. Assist with workers' compensation case management, return-to-work programs, and injury prevention initiatives. Monitor changes in EHS regulations and ensure ongoing compliance across multiple facilities. Support sustainability and environmental compliance initiatives, including waste management and environmental reporting requirements. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and human resources teams to support business objectives and employee well-being.


What We Are Seeking

Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related technical discipline, with 3–5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and federal regulations. Demonstrated ability to lead EHS programs and influence safety performance at all levels of an organization. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and EHS reporting systems. Ability to travel between facilities as needed. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ASP (Associate Safety Professional), CHMM, or equivalent are preferred. Experience in food manufacturing, dairy processing, or another regulated manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience leading regulatory audits, environmental compliance programs, and safety management systems. Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and behavior-based safety programs.
