Job summary

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to code oranges and participates as a member of the search team.
  • Aids in resolving dangerous situations; exercises sound judgment.
  • Conducts end-of-day safety equipment checks and restocks gear.
  • Ensures proper documentation of all crisis incidents.
  • Remains current with required training certifications and regulatory accreditations.
  • Assists with ongoing training and annual recertifications.
  • Responds promptly to emergencies to ensure safety of site and students.
  • Maintains professional conduct and a positive role model image.

Overview

We’re Hiring!!! Safety Ambassador - Bancroft School Mountainside

Location: Mountainside, NJ

Hours: 8a-4p, M-F

Pay Rate: $$26.15- $26.68

Position Summary:

Provides oversight, guidance, and instruction to staff relative to crisis de-escalation and approved crisis intervention techniques. Serves as a trained crisis response team to code blue situations, monitor assigned classrooms by following scheduled visits, and completes required documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Monitors assigned classrooms by following scheduled visits, common areas, classrooms, and outdoor spaces for safety in accordance with Bancroft's policies and procedures.
  • Responds to all code blue calls and provides guidance/support on approved de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies.
  • Responds to all code oranges and participates as a member of the search team.
  • Aids in the resolution of problematic/dangerous situations that may occur for students within the program. Exercises appropriate judgment in addressing specific situations.
  • Conducts end of day safety equipment checks, ensuring all mats, PPE and other safety equipment are all appropriately replaced, restocked and in good working order.
  • Ensures proper documentation of all crisis incidents.
  • Remains current with required training certifications, meets state-regulated licensing and regulatory accreditations, and adheres to mandatory requirements.
  • Will assist with ongoing training and annual recertifications.
  • Promptly responds to emergency situations to ensure the safety and security of the site and students at all times; e.g., participates in fire drills, emergency evacuations, etc.
  • Notifies proper authority in the event of a valid emergency.as a role model and projects a positive self-image of professionalism, appearance, confidentiality, courtesy, conduct, honesty, fairness, personal integrity, and a respect for the fundamental rights, dignity, and privacy of others.
  • Abides by the Bancroft Code of Ethics, Mission Statement, and Vision Statement in promoting ethical behavior, establishing relationships and providing guidance in decision-making situations.
  • Maintains effective verbal and written communications with colleagues, school leadership, those served, and their family members and/or guardians when applicable.
  • Willingly and effectively cooperates with Bancroft, and other licensing or state agencies or localmunicipalities in any inspections and investigations, upon request.
  • Maintains a safe and respectful environment, free of abuse, neglect, or exploitation; does not allowweapons, threats, bullying or intimidation.
  • Reports any violations to the appropriate individual as soon as the incident occurs.Maintains levels of supervision as defined in behavior plans; Individual Education Programs (IEP).

  • Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by educational programneeds. Required to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
