Job summary

Gateway Safety Consulting, LLC is hiring Safety Advisors and Training Instructors in the St. Louis area for permanent full-time and part-time roles. You will present safety training, support safety culture, and ensure contractor safety plan compliance on projects in Missouri.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety preferred.
• 1-5 years’ experience in a safety-related field or equivalent work experience preferred
• OSHA 10 and 30 Hour for Construction preferred
• OSHA 500 Authorized Instructor preferred
• BCSP credential (CSP, ASP, OHST, CHST, STS, STSC, CIT, GSP, TSP, SMP/SMS) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Present safety training including orientations and topics.
• Support safety efforts on the project and promote safety culture.
• Preplan contractor activities via scope review, JHA review, PTP.
• Ensure contractor safety submittals meet requirements.
• Ensure contractor compliance with the project safety plan and expectations.
• Maintain all safety documentation.
• Recommend hazard-related improvements.
• Coach team in hazard identification and corrective actions.
• Investigate accidents/near misses and report as required.
• Ensure project teams have safety equipment and resources.
• Liaise with insurers and manage project correspondence.
• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Presents safety training including safety orientations and industry specific safety topics
• Supports all safety efforts on the project and promotes the project safety culture
• Ensures contractor activities are preplanned for safety through scope review, preconstruction meetings, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) review, Pre-Task Planning (PTP), etc.
• Ensures contractors meet project safety submittal requirements.
• Ensures contractor compliance with the project safety plan and expectations
• Maintains all safety related documentation
• Makes recommendations concerning situations hazardous to employee safety or health
• Coaches project team in effective hazard identification and correction of issues
• Investigates all accidents/near misses and complete all reporting required
• Ensures project teams have safety equipment and resources
• Serves as project liaison and manages project correspondence with insurance carriers
• Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in safety preferred.
• 1-5 years’ experience in a safety-related field or equivalent work experience preferred
• BCSP credential is a plus (CSP, ASP, OHST, CHST, STS, STSC, CIT, GSP, TSP, SMP/SMS)
