Job summary

Safety Management Group, LLC in Piketon, Ohio is seeking a local Safety Advisor – Owner's Rep for utility construction projects. You will lead the Contractor Safety Management Program, perform safety observations, and build strong relationships with stakeholders to drive safety initiatives.

The role requires 2+ years in safety, OSHA 30-Hour, a college degree in a safety field or BCSP certification (or 5+ years in safety management in lieu of degree).

• Prior experience in Power Generation/electricity/construction environments preferred.
• Proficient in professional email communication, electronic document creation, and developing safety-related materials such as bulletins and alerts.
• Strong ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to contribute in a dynamic work environment.
• Capable of leading meetings and initiatives to drive safety and operational results.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership and guidance for grid enhancement projects.
• Ensure contractor compliance with safety policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Clearly communicate safety expectations and requirements to all contractors.
• Represent the utility client in project-related meetings and discussions.
• Prepare clear, concise safety reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture among field crews.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures while supporting continuous improvement.

SMG seeks a local Safety Advisor - Owner's Rep in the Piketon, Ohio area- Utility Construction.

The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change. Anticipated schedule is 50 hours/week. Schedule is subject to change.

Additional Information

• SMG full-time, benefitted Associates are eligible for Premium Pay after working 40 billable hours for the week. Premium pay is at a 1.35 multiplier.
• Per diem available for non-local candidates only. Per diem amount is $175/day
• Annual pay/merit review/increase.
• 5 year project duration
