Job summary

Outreach Works in Scranton, PA seeks a Family Development Specialist (SafeCare) to deliver home visitation and education to participating families. The role supports planning weekly group activities and Parent Cafes, using evidence-based Safe Care to enhance parent-child interactions, healthcare practices, and home safety.

The role requires transportation, training completion (motivational interviewing, domestic violence, trauma-informed practices, CPR, first aid), and evening/weekend hours as

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in social work, human development, psychology, neuroscience, early childhood education, or similar.
Familiarity with at-risk populations and diverse cultures with economic challenges.
Ability to teach SafeCare curriculum in participants' homes.

Responsibilities

Provide weekly home visits (60–90 minutes) to families with children 0–5 at risk.
Use Safe Care curriculum to improve parent-infant/child interaction, health care, and home safety.
Plan and implement weekly play & learn groups and Parent Cafes.
