Job summary

KIPP Miami is seeking reliable and safety-minded School Bus Drivers to transport students on brand-new electric buses from our North Miami Campus (3000 NW 110th St). This part-time role offers split shifts and opportunities for field trips and extracurricular routes.

You will operate buses according to regulations, perform pre/post trips, load and seat students, and uphold KIPP Miami's values of respect and safety.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional school bus or commercial driving experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Florida CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements required.
• Must meet FDOE/MDCPS standards including 40-hour training, DOT physical, and FMCSA screenings.
• Fingerprinting and Level II background clearance required.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record with no major violations in 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus per regulations and routes.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections for safety.
• Ensure safe loading/unloading and seating of students, including those with mobility needs.
• Maintain discipline and reflect KIPP Miami values on the bus.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and evacuations.
• Maintain logs, incident reports, and vehicle cleanliness.
