ServingSchools in Holden, Maine, seeks a Bus Driver to provide safe, efficient transportation for students on assigned routes under the RSU #63 Transportation Coordinator. The role requires maintaining a clean driving record and complying with Maine CDL and district safety standards.

The driver will perform pre-trip inspections, board/unboard students, and coordinate with district staff to ensure punctual, safe transport while upholding a professional environment for learners.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Hold a valid State of Maine Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with school bus (S) and passenger (P) endorsements.
• Maintain a clean driving record in accordance with district insurance standards.
• Successfully pass an annual physical examination and regular drug/alcohol testing as required by the State of Maine.
• Meet all physical, mental, and moral requirements established by the Maine Commissioner of Education.

Responsibilities

• Operate school buses or other district vehicles on strictly scheduled routes.
• Board and un-board passengers in accordance with state safety rules and vehicular laws.
• Maintain a firm commitment to schedule accuracy while prioritizing passenger safety.
• Be available for route adjustments or schedule changes as necessitated by district needs.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety.
• Perform routine maintenance on assigned vehicles to ensure optimal performance.
• Report defects, accidents, or safety incidents immediately to the Transportation Coordinator.
