Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer to support the FAA modernization of next‑generation flight services and air traffic management systems. This SAFe‑driven role focuses on scalable, cloud‑native platforms and safe, reliable operations.

You will lead Agile Release Train execution, coordinate with Scrum Masters and engineering leaders, and ensure on‑time delivery across multiple teams in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Experience leading Agile software development programs using SAFe, Scrum, or related frameworks.
• 3+ years in a technical leadership role (RTE/Tech Lead/Scrum Master).
• Experience coordinating releases, builds, and cross‑team dependencies in CI/CD environments.
• Knowledge of SDLC practices and release management processes.
• Experience with GitLab or similar DevSecOps toolchains.
• Linux environments and shell scripting familiarity.
• Experience with Java-based applications.
• Cloud-native architectures, microservices, and containerized development.
• Strong communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain SF‑85P Public Trust (Tier 2); U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Agile Release Train execution and maintain release roadmap.
• Facilitate SAFe program events (Release Planning, SCRUM of Scrums, Reviews).
• Manage cross‑team dependencies, risks, and impediments with engineering leadership.
• Coordinate release and build readiness with Builds & Controls, Config Management, and Test teams.
• Monitor program health via Agile metrics, dashboards, and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation of workflows.
• Support engineering execution and governance, including release documentation.
• Serve as servant leader and coach for high-performing teams.
