Job summary

Balanced Body is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead procurement and a five-person buying team in Sacramento, CA. The role focuses on strategy development, supplier relationships, and on-time delivery in a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in supply chain with 5+ years in management, strong negotiation, and expertise in ERP/MRP systems, including MS Dynamics Business Central. On-site work five days a week, reporting to the Director of Operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of supply chain experience, with 5+ years in a managerial role in manufacturing
• Strong leadership abilities and ability to negotiate best cost/quality with suppliers
• On-site in Sacramento, CA, five days a week; no hybrid or remote arrangement now or in the future
• Experience developing purchasing strategies and maintaining supplier relationships
• Knowledge of international markets and related logistics preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems (MS Dynamics Business Central a plus)

Responsibilities

• Lead supply chain strategies to reduce material cost and improve supplier on-time delivery
• Implement lean concepts (Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping)
• Develop and manage alternate replenishment methods (kanban, consignment, VMI) to increase turns
• Oversee site procurement, receiving, stockroom, and shipping personnel
• Ensure timely delivery and quality of materials from suppliers
• Develop and mentor buyer-planners and material handlers
• Coordinate meetings and publish minutes for status updates
• Support new product introduction procurement requirements
