Job description

Structural Engineering Regional Leader (PR/608586) Sacramento, California

Salary: USD130000 - USD165000 per annum

An award-winning, employee-owned multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a Regional Structural Engineering Leader to launch and grow its presence in Sacramento.

This is not a traditional management role.

This is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial structural engineering leader to establish a new office, shape the regional strategy, build a high-performing team, and become the face of a nationally respected practice throughout Northern California.

Backed by an established West Coast platform, a collaborative culture, and significant investment in growth, this position offers the rare chance to combine technical leadership, business development, mentorship, and office-building responsibility into one highly visible role.

For ambitious professionals who aspire to influence the future of a firm rather than simply contribute to it, this opportunity delivers a clear path toward executive leadership.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out
Build a Legacy

Lead the growth of a new Sacramento office with the autonomy to shape its culture, team, and market presence.

Regional Impact

Drive projects and client relationships across Northern California while helping expand one of the region's most respected structural engineering practices.

Operate with the support and resources of an established organization while enjoying the flexibility and influence typically found in a smaller firm.

Leadership Platform

Mentor and develop engineers, grow future leaders, and play a significant role in long-term business planning and strategy.

Collaborate on high-profile projects spanning commercial, civic, education, healthcare, workplace, mixed-use, residential, and specialty market sectors.

Employee Ownership

Become part of a firm where leadership is empowered, contributions are recognized, and long-term success is shared.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the establishment and growth of the Sacramento structural engineering practice.
  • Develop and execute regional business development strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with architects, owners, developers, and industry partners.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop structural engineering professionals.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance across projects.
  • Serve as Principal-in-Charge and trusted advisor for key clients.
  • Drive project delivery, financial performance, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams across multiple offices and disciplines.
  • Represent the firm throughout professional organizations and industry events.
