Job summary

Washington County School Age Child Care (SACC) Program seeks a Site Director to lead a safe, educationally enriched after-school program for students across Washington County Schools.

Your responsibilities include maintaining children’s safety, overseeing site operations and paperwork, preparing weekly lesson plans, guiding staff, reporting concerns, and communicating effectively with parents while ensuring FERPA compliance.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent, with 4 years working with youth or a degree.
  • Background check conducted every 5 years.
  • First Aid, CPR and AED training (training provided when approved for employment).
  • Physical examination required every 3 years.
  • Eighteen hours of state-approved professional development training each year.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain children's safety.
  • Maintain site paperwork (time sheets, parent accounts).
  • Maintain rules and regulations for Tennessee child care centers.
  • Provide a clean and safe environment.
  • Supervise and guide children through scheduled activities.
  • Implement state rules and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and children.
  • Report suspected child abuse.
  • Prepare weekly lesson plans.
  • Report equipment hazards and safety concerns to the Site Director.
  • Be punctual for scheduled shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Director.
  • Know proper safety drill procedures including evacuation and safe areas.

The responsibilities of the child-caregiver include creating an enriching learning environment and to look after the basic needs of children in their care.
