Job summary

BGS Consulting is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead the accounting function for a growing mid-sized SaaS organization. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing leadership responsibility.
• CPA required.
• Public accounting experience, Big Four preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Experience with SaaS or recurring-revenue models.
• Experience with month-end close, audits, and internal controls.
• Leadership and team development experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close with timely, accurate reporting.
• Oversee GL, AP, AR, payroll, accruals, reconciliations, and fixed assets.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and balance sheets.
• Serve as accounting expert on ASC 606, leases, capitalization, and GAAP.
• Oversee SaaS revenue, deferred revenue, contract mods, and commissions.
• Develop and improve policies, controls, and close processes.
• Lead annual financial statement audit and liaise with external auditors.
• Partner with FP&A, Sales, Legal, and Ops on business decisions.
• Mentor and develop accounting team.
