Job summary

Smiles 4 Keeps Family Dentistry in Scranton, PA is hiring Expanded Function Dental Assistants (EFDA) to join our multi-specialty practice. You will perform restorative tasks within regulatory limits while supporting patients and parents with clear explanations.

We offer a comprehensive training and mentoring program, competitive compensation, and an employer-paid benefits package for full-time team members. Hours are M-F, 8:15 AM–4:30 PM.

Qualifications

• PA EFDA license required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Current Pennsylvania radiology certification required.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Complete restorative work initiated by the dentist within state scope.
• Provide information to patients and parents.
• Position instruments, suction, retract, and pass tools.
• Prepare and place restorative materials on teeth.
• Take impressions for fabrication.
• Monitor vitals and keep patients calm throughout procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

• Complete restorative work initiated by the dentist within the limits provided by the state certification.
• Provide information to patients and parents
• Positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; retracting, passing instruments.
• Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
• Fill tooth preps with restorative material.
• Take Impressions.
• Observe vitals.
• Keep patient comfortable and calm, hold patients' hand.

Requirements:

Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
Current PA state EFDA license
Current CPR certification
Current Pennsylvania radiology certification
