Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking two experienced ABAP Backend Developers for a 6-month contract in San Antonio, TX, on-site. Role focuses on building a custom application in an S/4HANA environment, requiring independent work and strong ABAP expertise across OOABAP, CDS views, RAP, RFC, BAPI, and BADI.

Preference for full-time on-site work five days per week; candidate should be able to operate with minimal guidance and collaborate with technical and functional teams to deliver complex ABAP solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience with S/4HANA and OOABAP.
• Proficiency with CDS views, OData, and ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
• Strong full lifecycle ABAP development including RFC, BADI, BAPI, and enhancement frameworks.
• Experience with ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP).
• Ability to work independently from high-level functional designs.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver complex custom ABAP solutions within an S/4HANA environment.
• Collaborate with technical and functional teams to design and develop prioritized solutions.
• Utilize OOABAP, CDS views, RFC, BAPI, and BADI for custom development.
• Extend and integrate new solutions with existing custom apps.
• Resolve defects identified during testing and deployment.
