Qualifications

• An active Registered Veterinary Technician credential is required.
• Strong patient handling and restraint skills are essential.
• Proficiency in venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Experience performing laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing.
• Confidence assisting with surgery, anesthesia, and patient recovery.
• Experience obtaining diagnostic radiographs.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and obtain histories, vital signs, and initial assessments.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Provide compassionate nursing care from intake through discharge.
• Safely handle and restrain patients using Fear Free techniques.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments.
• Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples.
• Place IV catheters and administer fluids.
• Perform diagnostic imaging, including digital and dental radiographs.
• Run in-house IDEXX laboratory tests.
• Prepare patients and equipment for surgery and assist with anesthesia monitoring.
• Educate clients about medications and follow-up care.
• Maintain complete patient medical records.
• Collaborate across the hospital to support a positive team culture.
• Maintain clean and organized clinical areas.
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
