Job summary

Horizon Hospitality Associates, Inc. seeks a seasoned Resort General Manager to oversee daily operations of a full-service campground along the Shenandoah River near Front Royal, VA.

You will lead a 10+ person team, manage a $1.5M+ budget, and ensure safety, guest satisfaction, and a family‑friendly culture. This on-site role offers a base salary of $75,000–$85,000 with a potential $10,000 bonus, on-site housing with utilities, monthly stipends for vehicle use, cell phone, and high-speed Wi‑Fi,

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations and manage a $1.5M+ operating budget, control expenses, submit monthly reports, and ensure safety protocols.
• Oversee capital improvements and coordinate contractors to keep grounds, infrastructure and amenities fully operational.
• Maintain a family-friendly atmosphere, resolve member issues, and plan community events (including live entertainment).
• Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor a staff of 10+ employees, conducting evaluations and fostering a positive work environment.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and hands-on Resort General Manager to oversee daily operations, empower a dedicated team, and manage our expansive, full-service campground along the scenic Shenandoah River. Surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, you will report directly to leadership while seamlessly blending strategic business management, staff development, physical property maintenance, and member relations to deliver an exceptional experience and nurture a thriving, family-friendly culture.

Position Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations, manage $1.5M+ operating budgets, control expenses, submit monthly reports, and ensure all local/state certifications and safety protocols are met.

• Oversee capital improvements, coordinate contractors, and ensure all grounds, infrastructure, and amenities are clean, safe, and fully operational.

• Maintain a family-friendly atmosphere, resolve member issues promptly, and plan community events (including live entertainment and fireworks).

• Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor a staff of 10+ employees while conducting performance evaluations and fostering a positive work environment.

Position Requirements

• Experience: Proven background in hospitality management required; RV resort/campground management experience strongly preferred.

• Track Record: Demonstrated experience managing $1.5M+ budgets, leading teams of 10+, and overseeing capital/facility projects.

• Skills & Competencies: Strong business acumen, excellent communication and organizational skills, high emotional intelligence, and dependability.

• Other: Valid Driver’s License required. Flexibility for weekend/holiday hours during peak season (May-September). On-site residency required.

Compensation Package Details

• Base Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 annually (paid bi-weekly, negotiable based on experience).

• Performance Bonus: Potential up to $10,000.

• Housing: Free on-site living package including a full-hookup RV site with utilities (alternative living arrangements negotiable).

• Allowances: Monthly stipends for personal vehicle use, cell phone, and high-speed Wi-Fi.

• Benefits: Paid Time Off (PTO) package included.
